Vampire Halloween
It's my first real Halloween as Australia doesn't really celebrate the spooky night. So I thought why not play around with some monster gloves, a cape, teeth, a cigarette lighter and of course blood.

Lets Celebrate National Adoption Month!!
There is a lot going on in the month of November...Not only is Thanksgiving right around the corner, the start of the Holiday Season and National Diabetes Awareness month but it is ALSO National Adoption Month!
It is also my fathers birth month (rest in peace) and he happened to be adopted by a wonderful couple, my grandparents, after living over 10 years without a child in their lives. My father was the only one they adopted and it is an interesting story. Way back in the good ole days of the 1930's there was very little paper work involved. As a matter of fact, in my fathers case, there was next to none. My grandparents had put the word out to their friends in the community of Bath, Maine that they would be open to adopt a baby. They had a friend that worked down at the court house and one day my grandmother received a phone call saying that an eight month baby boy was just 'dropped off' and would she be interested in coming down and taking a look. She and my grandfather rushed right down to find a very healthy baby boy being doted on by all of the employees of the court house. They said yes and gathered up his few things and took him home. It was easy as that. (although I would hope that some sort of paper work was signed but I found no adoption certificate at all)
When my grandmother passed away at age 100 I found among her belongings my fathers original birth certificate with both parents listed and place of birth, several hours away from where my grandparents resided. Although my father did have the opportunity to meet his biological mother he never did meet his biological father. I have yet to investigate this avenue and I am not really sure why I am not more curious. I also found the clothes he came home in from the court house, the cute little shoes and linen coat and shorts.
That is my personal story and because of this adoption that offered me a wonderful set of grandparents I will be celebrating National Adoption Month!

November is National Adoption Month, a month set aside each year to raise awareness about the adoption of children and youth from foster care. This year's National Adoption Month initiative targets adoption professionals by focusing on ways to recruit and retain parents for the 115,000 children and youth in foster care waiting for adoptive families.
Activities and celebrations are kicked off with a Presidential Proclamation, and while efforts made at the national level certainly help build awareness of adoption, participation in local programs, events, and activities by those of us with a direct connection to adoption can often be the most effective way to promote positive perceptions, debunk the myths, and draw attention to the tens of thousands of children in foster care who wait and hope for permanent families.

X Factor - Week 4 Picks
Rebecca Ferguson - Wicked Love (Chris Issac)
Cher Lloyd - Stay (Shakespeare's Sister)
Tonight's Halloween theme created both highlights and a lot of mediocre performances as the 11 contestants to a risk with dark songs. My favorites of the night were Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd. Rebecca blew me away with her rendition of Chris Issac's famous Wicked Love. Cher Lloyd proved that she can do

Monochrome Love
I feel in love with the H&M Blazer when I was browsing online. Unfortunately there isn't a H&M convenient enough for me. Luckily however on my trip to Oktoberfest I managed to pick up the blazer (as well as other fun goodies). I paired this with my skinny jeans, long tank and my golden key necklace (a friendship necklace). I love this blazer, heck I love shopping here.

My Travels - Ireland Dublin to the Giant Causeway
With long weekends... well weekends in general I take the liberty to try and travel around Ireland. I took a bus all the way to Dublin from Limerick. From there I took tours around, above are photos of Dublin's Temple Bar area, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant Causeway. I got to go to Belfast for an hour, I didn't really get an impression of it being there only for a little while.

MORPHotel - floating hotel with a backbone
Nature often dictates the decision of the person or other problems. In recent years, designers have realized that knowledge of human anatomy or animal can be used to create different designs. For example, the vehicle body or structure of the Maserati Quattroporte transforming the hotel MORPHotel.
Floating hotels - this is not news in the world architecture. That's just usually they are a ship (boat, landing stage, barge), which are equipped hotels. But the architect Zhanlyuka Santosuosso (Gianluca Santosuosso) proposed a conceptual idea of the hotel MORPHotel, which will be initially created as a floating hotel.
The basis of the structure MORPHotel (from the Greek root "morph" - "form") is spreading, and, specifically, spinal animal. That is not the skeleton, and structure, it resembles. After the skeleton - it's surprisingly sturdy, and while mobile biological system. It is therefore not surprising that someone thought of using it in architectureMORPHotel will be a huge number of floating capsules, strung on a movable axis. This is his resemblance to a skeleton. All of this huge structure, is expected to sail the seas and oceans, sailing is one, then in another city, and becoming for a time with their new area.
Skeletal structure of a floating hotel MORPHotel will better withstand the elements. After all, he can change shape depending on external conditions (for example, stretch or shrink the line in the ring).
Of course, speed Telja MORPHotel on the water surface will be much less than the speed of the same ships or yachts. But it will be a real floating city. Which, in addition, each day will receive a new form.
Miracles, and only!

Olivia Palermo Mango Campaign
Though MTV's The City may have been cancelled, but that doesn't seem to cut the lives of both Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo. Olivia has landed the coveted spot as the face of Mango, replacing Scarlett Johansson. Above are two new images of Olivia featuring her model boyfriend Johannes Huebl Huebl. I must say, and this is for all of Palermo's recent magazine spreads that she doesn't seem to
InStyle UK - Christina Aguilera
InStyle UK features Christina Aguilera/Xtina. With a new movie Burlesque coming out at the end of the year its time for her promotional tour in the media world. On top of that her public separation and divorce from her husband I'm sure that'll soon come up, maybe in the magazine as well. I can't wait to see the spread. I think she still needs to find her own style. From girl next door to dirty
Inexpensive Wall Art~
We recently painted our girls' bathroom. The bathroom had been a bubblegum pink color. The original idea (or the girls') was to make it look like Juicy Couture (the chocolate and pink with the cute little logos). Well, that never happened! And, the pink was so bright we had to put a dimmer on the light. Pink is not a good color for a bathroom...the girls had the hardest time with makeup application due to the hue it would cast on their faces while applying! Who knew?????
Anyhow, I am still adding the finishing touches to the bath since it received it's new pretty blue wall color (Jamestown Blue, Pottery Barn). We love it with the rich chocolate cabinets the girls have. I was at a loss for art however. Couldn't find anything with the right colors. Then when in JoAnn's one day I stumbled upon some scrapbook paper I loved, and the perfect colors too. I found some great 12X12 frames on sale at Michaels. One piece I left as is, I liked the bold graphic design. Then I found the stripe. I cut out the letter J (for our last name) from another piece of the graphic scrapbook paper and glued it to the striped one. Instant ART!!
When I get all the finishing touches in place, I'll reveal the whole room (what there is of it, it is quite small actually).

Fall Tray~
We have an iron tray with glass that we keep on our coffee table in our family room to set drinks down on and the remote controls. I decided to add a bit of fall to it as the leaves here are FINALLY changing now that the South is cooling off. I had some burlap left from another project, so I just cut a piece the size of the glass, fringed the edge and placed it on the tray. I went out into the yard and collected some fallen leaves, dried them, and placed them on top of the burlap and covered with the glass. I love all of the beautiful colors nature has to offer!
Hope you all have a wonderful day! It is beautiful here. We have been receiving some much needed rain, but expect clear cool skies for Halloween!
Paint Formula~
After I posted the Before and After pictures of our entertainment center and fireplace surround, several of you asked about the paint I used and the formula. So, here you FINALLY have it. We have used this color in several areas of our home (entertainment center, fireplace surround, back staircase, kitchen island, all bathroom cabinets) and love it. Very easy to keep clean and it goes with EVERYTHING! It was a custom color mix at Porter Paints.
Heads UP! November is National Diabetes Awareness Month
Because October is such a big month for Brest Cancer Awareness we sometimes are burned out by November! Don't let this happen to you! November is a great opportunity to share with your clients information about diabetes and how it affects fertility. For example:
Diabetes Commonly Occurs in Association with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
Increased Susceptibility to Urinary and Genital Tract Infections
Elevated Blood Glucose Is Teratogenic To the Growing Fetus
High Blood Glucose Level Causes Accelerated Fetal Growth
Psychological and Physical Effects on Sex
Although the entire month of November is dedicated to National Diabetes Awareness Month, November 14th is World Diabetes Day.

My Travels - Ireland Cliffs of Moher
So now that I'm in Ireland.. and well you know studying (well at least trying to at least), I'm taking the opportunity to visit the local site. Site 1 the journey to the Cliffs of Moher. Since Ireland is predominately country greenery or country stone the photos that I have from Ireland are of a particular colour palette so excuse that. Anywho back to the Cliffs. So an early start and a few

Kate Moss Final Topshop Collection
Kate Moss' finale Topshop collection is to be released next week November 2nd, with Moss herself appearing at the Oxford Circus store unveiling the full 1970's inspired collection. This will be her 17th collection with the brand, which put the supermodel on the map as a collaborative fashion designer. Her designs for this current collection are 1970's bohemian/vintage inspired. My Travels - Oktoberfest
So after my month in Europe I finally settled in Limerick, Ireland. I'm going to be here till December studying. But luckily with a base now to leave all of my stuff, travel is way easier and now I have more room for shopping! 2010 marked the 200th anniversary of Germany's Oktoberfest. Camping for three nights in a damp tent wasn't too that much fun. Though Oktoberfest is like a mixture of
Guided relaxation Theatre (a hybrid of a rehabilitation center and theater)
Interactive complex was conceived by young designers Gerodotovoy Alexandra (Alexandra Gerodotova) Hajiyev and Alexei (Alexei Gadjiev) primarily as a hybrid of a rehabilitation center and theater. Is a huge underground complex, whose action is aimed at introducing people to the anti-stress condition and help in solving the acute problems.Premises controlled by the neural network, through the filling of their subjects, are able to pick up the slightest changes in psycho-emotional person, thereby adjusting the environmental conditions of stay.
Each of the 12 rooms have represented a kind of playing field (space for creation, or destruction) in which a person is free to do whatever he wants. Scream, to create flavor, do self-study, play logic games, or simply do nothing.According to the authors, having rooms (each set at will) eventually you get into the home, where before you played Forum-play, gradually takes you from the stress state that enriches the emotions and push for solutions to problems.

Marie Clare UK December - Rihanna
Rihanna features on the cover of Marie Claire UK December. Newsstand cover features the Barbados singer in a beauty shot and for the subscriber cover a full length shot showing her great curve and intense red hair. Love love love the newsstand cover, but I'm not feeling the 80's wide hairdo. She looks hot either way though.

My Travels - Paris
The last stop on my month of travel is Paris, France. I can't speak more of it, I loved every bit of it. Unfortunately I didn't get to do much. I accidentally slept in... so I had to make my way into Paris from where I was staying. I must say though, even with my short time in Paris it was really good just wondering around the streets. This is the number one 'place on my to go back to before
