My Travels - Paris.. Again

After falling in love with Paris on my tour in August, and unfortunately falling asleep on my only say there I had to go back to this amazing city. So my final stop before London was Paris just for two days, well really one day with trains and flights it cuts it down. Back to Paris, I wanted to get things done like climb the Eiffel tower, go up to the top of the Arc de Triomphe and go to the

My Travels - Lyon

From the sunny Barcelona, I went to Lyon, France. It's such a nice more quieter French city than Paris. There is plenty of places to shop and the view from the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourviere. I even went to a cute little French restaurant, delved in the cuisine and I never knew how many courses and types of cheese one could eat! Good memories.

Note the new MARTAN Main layout, I'm still

My Travels - Barcelona

On my final leg of travel I started in Barcelona, Spain. Being one of the only countries I hadn't been to on my European travels coupled with my two free weeks, I thought I'd visit the Spanish city. Though it wasn't peak season Barcelona was really nice. Having street performers and extensive Spanish art and architectural design easily found within the city I found this place to be fun and

My Travels - London Love Love Love

I went to London on the weekend, loving the city a lot I wanted to visit it enjoying the sights and the surroundings. I also got the chance to go to Canterbury with friends which was really period and quaint. Shopping was intense, though I must say the budget has become as skinny I am ahaha. Notably I went to the Tate Museum, Liberty London, SoHo and the like. I did miss however going to see

I'm very excited. I love love love London! So I'm going to be MIA for the weekend again, so I'll be sure to update when I'm back in Limerick on Monday. MARTAN xTweet

My Travels - Edinburgh

So my weekend I was in Edinburgh, Scotland. Upon going I wasn't that excited, being sick and all I wasn't in the mood to travel and I hadn't really heard much of Scotland so I didn't know what to expect. So after a long day of travels including an early train to Dublin and a long wait for a flight I finally got to Edinburgh. And boy was I amazed. I love Edinburgh. It's hard to describe, it

Well no drum roll but I'm going to...Edinburgh! A holiday within a holiday/study abroad trip, you know that type of thing. My Travels - Wiklow National Park

This is my last travel post. (Well that I have till I travel again). While I was in Dublin I went on a tour to the Wiklow National Park, if you haven't realized by now Ireland is very green and minimal but never fear there was a reason for my visit to Wiklow. Parts of PS I love You the movie was shot in Wiklow National Park, for instance the photo of me is were Hilary Swank and Gerald Butler

My Travels - Ireland Dublin to the Giant Causeway

With long weekends... well weekends in general I take the liberty to try and travel around Ireland. I took a bus all the way to Dublin from Limerick. From there I took tours around, above are photos of Dublin's Temple Bar area, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant Causeway. I got to go to Belfast for an hour, I didn't really get an impression of it being there only for a little while.

My Travels - Ireland Cliffs of Moher

So now that I'm in Ireland.. and well you know studying (well at least trying to at least), I'm taking the opportunity to visit the local site. Site 1 the journey to the Cliffs of Moher. Since Ireland is predominately country greenery or country stone the photos that I have from Ireland are of a particular colour palette so excuse that. Anywho back to the Cliffs. So an early start and a few

My Travels - Oktoberfest

So after my month in Europe I finally settled in Limerick, Ireland. I'm going to be here till December studying. But luckily with a base now to leave all of my stuff, travel is way easier and now I have more room for shopping! 2010 marked the 200th anniversary of Germany's Oktoberfest. Camping for three nights in a damp tent wasn't too that much fun. Though Oktoberfest is like a mixture of

My Travels - Paris

The last stop on my month of travel is Paris, France. I can't speak more of it, I loved every bit of it. Unfortunately I didn't get to do much. I accidentally slept in... so I had to make my way into Paris from where I was staying. I must say though, even with my short time in Paris it was really good just wondering around the streets. This is the number one 'place on my to go back to before

My Travels - Swiss Alps

Switzerland was a big change in weather for me. I'd packed for cool weather, then I found out I was traveling in the end of a long summer so it was hot. This led to me to wear either a pair of short shorts or harem pants coupled with .But once I reached the Swiss Alps I could finally wear majority of my winterish clothes (and free up my suitcase for a day). We only spent around an hour in the

My Travels - Florence

Florence, the home of The David, Leather and Silver goods. Only staying one night here I managed to do a bit of shopping and of course enjoy a cup of Gelato. There is a lot of sculptures in the city center, all with great mythological history which is really interesting. With throwing a coin in the Trevi Fountain for a safe return to Italy I hope I come back and soak up a more history, maybe hit

My Travels - Rome

Rome Rome Rome. What can I say. It was bloody hot that was one thing. I think that I would of liked it more if I stayed longer and maybe not around the peak of summer, because I was really hot and bothered trying to go to all of these places in a day while the heat is belting down on you. The Trevi Fountain was really pretty, such a iconic and really pretty piece. And of course the Colosseum

My Travels - Venice

By the time I hit Italy it's at the peak of summer. So it's ideal short short weather. Taking a ferry into the center of Venice I spend the whole day wondering around the narrow streets crowded with people and little stalls. And yes I did do a Gondola ride, which was intense. I spent a lot of hard earn dollars here, there was a lot of really nice leather goods and other pretty items all to be

My Travels - Austria

Austria is such a peaceful place. It's pretty much untouched by man... well besides the addition of a few houses and the cable cars to the top of the mountains. I could so see myself retreating here for a holiday for a nice break, quiet getaway. Ironically Austria was full of extreme sports. I did Para-gliding and White Water Rafting, two things I thought I'd never do mainly because I'm

My Travels - Munich

From Prague I went back to Germany to Munich only for a quick pit stop. I had just enough time to see the Glockenspiel, Dachau Concentration camp (second photo) and a wonder around the city center. Don't worry though, I came back to Munich for Oktoberfest. So more photos to come.

My Travels - Prague

I arrived in Prague and straight off the bus... it started to rain. And I've come to learn that in Europe there isn't too much shelter from the rain so I got soaked. Luckily I had a leather jacket on, so my top half was dry, but bottom half which was just in short shorts was soaked. So after a long walk up around the to center of Prague the view was intense! The city reminds me of a place

My Travels - Berlin

One of my favorite cities, Berlin is intensely beautiful. The buildings and the general area itself is really clean and classically designed. I recommend taking a few walking tours, especially if you don't know anything about Berlin. It's a great way to see everything as well as understand the history behind the city. Tres cool.
